I am a big fan of white bags. My 6 digit Inland is a white bag. It has a 1950s charcoal grey (almost black) manganese phosphate finish, Underwood barrel dated 44 (no month) and an ME of "0". It is a mixmaster of course. The guy I got it from actually took it from the bag. When he got it, it had the original "I" cut high wood Inland stock, and he kept it when he sold it to me, and had it in a later stock. He had bought it just for the I cut, and gave me a great buy on it.
With that said, this is how DOD wanted it in the 1950s. It was an "Issue weapon" then, in that condition.

The value of a white bag, to me, means unaltered as it was in the bag with paperwork. Without paperwork or when something is changed, especially as major as a stock, is it still considered a white bag? Certainly the value has to have taken a hit to some degree.

I absolutely agree. The value I place on it is personal and subjective. I know it is as was rebuilt into this configuration in the 1950, albeit with its original stock. It has a new USGI Underwood barrel, though, and is a great shooter. To others, practically speaking, it is just a mix-master.

When I got my two, I didn't request anything in particular. What I received was an Inland with an SG marked receiver and a spring tube Inland. Needless to say, I was very happy with what they sent me. Both had nearly all correct parts on top of it!
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!
