    Faux-1903a4 Scope Mount

So I've got a line on a Remington 1903a3 in rwally nice condition for $700 that I'm thinking about picking up and converting to an a4. My question concerns the scope mount... I've heard different things concerning mounting the scope mount. I've heard both that I would need to have the original rear sight base milled down before mounting the scope mount, and I've heard that the scope mount will mount to the original base. Can anyone who has done a conversion or who knows better tell me what the truth is?

    Thanks...

Lookup the Redfield Jr. scope base for the M1903A3. You'll see that the receiver does not have to be milled.
