    Bremmer SAR15

    Hi,
I understand that the Bremmer SAR15 range of .22lr AR15 based rifles were built at the Parker Hale factory after it was taken over and became Bremmer Arms.
Can anyone tell me any production history or other relevant info on these rifles.
I have attached a few pictures of my carbine acquired a couple of years ago.

    Thanks,

    John.

    John,
Is it you that is looking for a single stage trigger for your PH 1200TX? Know where there is one PM me if it is you.

Coming onto the Bremmer SAR15 questions:

200 were produced by PH between 1997 and 2000 when the company was sold to Sabre Defence and I know from Bill that Guy Savage had a load of bits before the doors closed. PH concentrated on the Bottom and Top actions with the Mechanism coming from the U.S Military. The .22 barrels were made bespoke for the rifle with 556 inserts being obtained as well.

As you will appreciate the timeline and history gets very muddled around this time, as it two'd and fro'd across the Atlantic and passed around like the flu!!

Not sure what has happened to Guy Savage as Bill Smallwood and I were talking about him this morning funnily enough........I never met him, but Bill tells me he cleared them out in 2000 of all the Bremmer AR series stuff. Next time you are chatting to Bill, he'll fill you in on what he knows about the production history that I don't hold. I have quite a few logged in the records so PM me if you want me to check its history for you most were either sold to Savage or York Guns or indeed Norman Clark in the records.

    Hi John

I have one of these too although I think your but stock has been replaced as the early ones are slimmer as per the old Colt carbine

Mine came with the scope just like yours, slightly longer than the original Colt scope but works great

A very accurate rifle that very rarely fails to feed

    Steve

    Hi Steve,

I have the original CAR15 type butt stock as well, I just prefer the bigger M4 type so I modified an airsoft one to fit (the buffer tube is bigger than standard). The only issues I have had with the rifle was a missing clip from the front of the bolt assembly and a broken firing pin. I managed to get an M261 spares kit from Sarco in the USAicon (to replace the clip) and I have made a new firing pin. The one thing I miss is a working last round hold open (I use Black Dog mags which jam the bolt back after the last round). I am going to see if I can modify the existing catch to operate off the Black Dog magazine follower.

    Regards,

    John.

The new model mag has an open feed lips and at the back there's an extension that operates the HOD. If you reach forward to the existing follower, you'll likely have the ammo engage the HOD as the rifle operates. There's also a mag housing insert you'd need. Here's a link to show you what I'm talking about... four4islands.org View topic - LANTCA 25Rnd Mags
