Ok, so ask to make sure that it is a real rifle and not a school rifle, look for chromed barrels if there are any. I can do that easily. I'll have to go back out there and see what they have. Curious though, just what is a good asking price for an Arisaka?

about 250 to 350 for a complete collectable shooter in my opinion. I have what i call project grade rifle in my rake at 100 an up too 200. Have a nice matching 6.5 rifle with bayo for 450 an my prices are always negotiable. So spend what you feel comfortable with on some thing you like. You will know which one to by when you pick it up an every thing feels right an you can not put it down. If you walk away the memorie will bug you till you pick it up again. trust you instinct.

I'd say Mike's pretty close. $300 for one in decent condition and ground mum, $400 for decent condition with mum. There are anomalies however still with these. I watched a nice one with ground mum sell for $125 at auction two weekends ago and I have no idea why it went so low. I only looked at it briefly as I wasn't interested in it but at that price I wish I had taken a closer look at it. Bargain of the day as far as I could see.

Once you find any firearm that you like it will speak to you thru holing it. doesnt matter mum no mum sporter or full military buy it shoot it an enjoy

Only thing I would add is the type 99 has some cool gizmos hung on it.....that is what makes them fun. You see many missing the AA wings on the site, and also missing the mono pod. Try to find one as hole as you can. Remember this stuff is not going to go down in value....if you take your time you will find the correct one.

And nothing worse then letting one slip past.

I think Hornady also does a run on brass from time to time....IIRC I got my last batch from Graf
