We had a Company of Gurkhas in 2 PARA for a year or so, issued with said beret as well, many had done P Company but for various reasons things didn't work out, I think they had a hard job absorbing contract catering in the cookhouse
'Tonight my men and I have been through hell and back again, but the look on your faces when we let you out of the hall - we'd do it all again tomorrow.' Major Chris Keeble's words to Goose Green villagers on 29th May 1982 - 2 PARA

The 1907 bayonet by Mole is desirable because, as Cinders has stated, it is from one of the less prolific makers but also because the blade appears to be in reasonably good condition with not too much corrosion. The whole bayonet could be rejuvenated quite easily but I would suggest leaving it to whom you sell it to, to clean up, unless you know what you are doing. This is because more harm than good could easily be done to this item which would reduce it's value.

You could have just issued them goats as live rations and let them carry on(some currie too). The feed would have been delish...just bring a few beers and join them.

As a matter of interest, the 5GR badge on the scabbard is the POST 1952 version of their badge.
