    Here's a good start:

[QUOT aE=Jason60chev;390230]Would just require cleaning the gas cylinder and the end of the op rod a little better, I would think. You're going to clean them, anyway.

WHy do people have such and adverse regard for cleaning their guns? Is it THAT difficult or such a laborious disliked chore? And this negativity to "corrosive" ammo.......Just clean your gun! You can do it while watching tv. The only extra step is to run something through the gun to neutralize the slats....Windex with ammonia works. well....or hot soapy water....same thing I used to clean my black powde r guns with. Seems that gun owners only like their guns if they don;t have to take care of them. I would think that gun owners who take such pride in their guns would enjoy taking care of them as well. That's just me.[/QUOTE]

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Thompson Center makes a bore cleaner for their muzzle loaders that works well but I have also used hot water and soap and windex. All it takes is a good cleaning afterwards. I have quite a bit of 7.62 soviet that's put back in case of emergency that is corrosive. If the day comes when we start shooting it so be it. it will be there but I would just as soon shoot the good stuff. Actually I have some Norinco 7.62 that is more accurate than the non-corrosive stuff.
