A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Just saw this. You'll have trouble putting that book down for the first while...and the illustrations and detail is super.

    21 Thompson

Just picked up the rest of the parts that came with the 21 Thompson and have a question. How can I tell a real Thompson barrel from an aftermarket can't see any markings but the blue and fins look correct.

Hard for me to tell without any visuals at all. A replacement may not have markings at all. The good replacements from Numrich back two dozen years were perfect too, blue and polish, nice... I'd think a NOS OEM '21 barrel would be very hard to believe. I'd suspect an aftermarket.

Such as I would suspect. The Savage barrel is obvious, the other I'd think may well be aftermarket. If you need it, you'll be very happy to have it. I know...
