Thanks Kev, I was just having a browse and noticed a lot more than origanly advertised, missed out on a very old spec Mk1 before xmas, with a removable barrel etc, what makes it worse was I knew the guy but never realised until after, would of helped if he had answered his phone ..........and how many dealers are on pay as you go......... only wanted it due to the price, very cheap for what it was, plus just in case I bought a Bren gun carrier.

Thanks for posting, nice and clear Irish ownership markings there, case closed. Shame its been comprehensively vandalised! Another UKicon dealer who will remain nameless was/is selling an AK, deactivated to the new EU spec, with a steel pin across the magwell

Their example however had been "shot through the mag well" Its plain to see they had simply drilled through the other side and knocked the pin out, the mig weld splatter on one side of the receiver is the final nail in the coffin on that one.

They are the same dealer "claiming" to be selling a deactivated L85A2 .... Some people are just begging for trouble to come looking for them!!

Buying a Bren Gun Carrier from the top down Geoff!

You never know........ I've bought a No4T from the top down. Last year there was one on ebay, but had a lot of new fabrication on which was a bit dodgy to say the least, not cut straight ect, it was bought for £6000 and turned around for about £10000 or more.

On Milweb, there was an advert for all the running gear can't recall the price but wasn't eye watering and another advert for the body...... which was advertised at £500. Either way I was skint at the time as I'd just bought the Matchless's and an L42.

I can't complain as the L42 and Matchless were the icing on the cake, lot of things had to go and are still going but all worth it in the long run, in fact just gearing up to take a lot of stuff to the Auction...... so hopefully a few more ££ towards the L42 fund.

The main of the exterior was done, back to bare metal primed and painted pillar box red, still the inserts to do which contain the glass and glazing bars, the door is ready for the repair at the bottom ( waited till I found an old hardwood front door in a skip) some nice big bits of hardwood left......

Hinges and pins cleaned up well and the leather door check straps were brought back to life with lanolin...... just waiting for some decent weather fingers crossed for March, also the Matchless to proceed with and a roof to repair.........
