    Just got an on-line notice from Midway, POFicon .303, 174 grain ammo on sale, 250 rounds for 80 bucks, worth looking at.

    I think AIM Surplus has mixed bag Mk.7 ball in stock also. I forget the price.

    Well the stuff is ok if you want to make noise as I shot it for about 5 shoots and ditched it as useless crud click-------BANG? looked like I was shooting a blackpowder 303 with confetti flying out the end of the muzzle my advice if you get it pull it and reload with good primers and powder its not good gear if that was HXP greek stuff grab it at that price no way hozay P.O.F for the birds.........

    It's always a crap shoot buying the Mk.7 cordite loaded ammo. If it's seen horrible temperature extremes combined with age, the primers can and will hang fire giving the "flintlock effect" as mentioned by Cinders. I actually lucked into a few good boxes of POFicon that was fine in the past. I had a little test here a few years ago at 25 yards using a control No.4 and 1' paster looking for point of impact and consistency of several different lots of Mk.7 including Britishicon, Canadianicon, Iraqi and Pakistani. The results were impressive with tight three shot groups and the exact same point of impact. A great testament to the pre computerized, standardized method of manufacture by all of the nations involved.

    Lucky you Brian mine was '67 and Fred Flintstone in operation, I did however score the wooden transit case and metal cartridge liner as recompense for crud ammo (no I knew the gunsmith so he gave it to me when it was empty.) $15/38 rounds when I was using it, kept 1 empty packet for posterity.
