    577/450 cartridge identification

My photo shows three cartridges, two 577/450 and the small 297/250 Rook in the center.

The 577/450 on the left, could it be a carbine loading ?Attachment 81123

I'm guessing this is to examine the state of the paper inside?

CINDERS, I do not have the early inspection window in my early 577/450 cartridge. I have never seen one either.

While on the 577/450 cartridge, anyone remember a chamber insert that allowed you to shoot 45 Colt ?

The coiled MH case was made with two reinforcing strips in the base. The hole (window) was so an inspector could see that the second strip was present. Eley contract ctgs were made with a single strip doubled over and lacked the window. This ammo was designated MkIIIE.
