I wondered what members thoughts and views are on the markings to this MG42 spare barrel case, please?

    * It is the same case and end, just photographed from 2 angles.

Is it a kind of Parkerised finish, not painted?

I did wonder if the barrel case which I photographed in Post 1 is a Post War Yugoicon example with the markings added in recent years. I'm not complaining because I got it for a good price but the difficulty in identifying it is not helped by the fact that the only difference between the war time and post war examples seem to be the markings.

I figured it's a Yugo. It's exactly what we saw over there. It still functions though.

My opinion is, it's a Yugoicon variant.

Look carefully at the letter code. The letters are NOT straight, & uniformly stamped as ALL originals were. a lot were also WaffenAmpt eagle stamped also.

Usually, as from other members pics. The nomenclature is also stamped on wartime container's as well.
