    I recall being given the lo-down on the reasons why Aust and NZicon remove the barrel on the Steyr every time there's a 'show clear'. Some of the reasons left me speechless.........

    I have never seen that here. Just bolt locked open, mag removed and a visual inspection.

    Woodsy is very probably correct in that it's not done in NZicon (thread 62). One our Aust DS told us it was their drill so I just assumed that it'd be both Aust and NZ.
