New To Me 6.5x55 Carl Gustav

Hello all, this is my first Swiss so I have a question about the sights. The rifle is a model 96 dated 1905. The serial numbers match and after a good cleaning it appears to have a shiny bore. I will be taking it to the range tomorrow after loading 50 rounds to test. The sight is graduated from 300 to 600 on the slide then lifting the ladder it goes to some huge number. On the rear bridge it has been tapped for a diopter sight of unknown model. I looked for this style of sight and found many versions. Does someone know what model might have been installed on this year model? The holes are staggered right side being forward of the left hole. There was mention of these sights, while looking similar, having slightly different mounting dimensions. Anyway thanks for looking. Cheers

The holes appear to match those shown on P215 of "The Crown Jewels" as being for a GF diopter. P212 presents the original Swedish document that permitted the "Frivilliga Skytterörelsen", i.e. volunteer shooters associations, who used rifles loaned from the military, to mount diopter sights. But these sights had to be removed when the rifle was returned to military stock.

GF = Gevärsfaktoriet, i.e. the Carl Gustav factory in Eskilstuna.

No it's not, it's a SWEDISH rifle !

Sorry, Swedish. Won't forget. Had range day, loaded 140 grain Hornady ELD Match 140 grain H 4350 42 grains 10 round average 2450 fps, excellent. Shifted front sight, windage on. 300 yard steel plate, struck close to center. 100 yard strike approx 12 inches high. Will look for rear diopter. Thanks for the info.
