Ah, I see, so these are like the old Morris aiming tubes.

I would have thought they would still benefit from a snug fit though..

Wrap the sub cal barrel with PTFE tape and they're as good as gold. But like the L1A1 rifle versions, get a slight bulge and it's there for ever!

I would think bulges would be a result of a squib ammo or perhaps a small blockage like water or...? Normal use won't produce a bulge will it Peter? You've examined a few thousand of this sort of thing...what else would cause the bulges, not normal use surely?

Our .22 sub cals for the L1A1 rifle had quite a few bulges. Thereafter the rifle remained a .22"! Don't know really what caused them. But we ALWAYS blamed the ammo and the ammo techs!

I was not realy thinking about buying it, I was a little but suspicios as the wooden suport did not look the right age.
Any way in France the 22 enfields are a little more than 800 euros.
N°8 1,2000 never shot N°7 MK1 new condition, went for 2,300
N°7 MK1 in 22 mag is for sale at 800 euros and he will not reduce the price.
N°4s Long Branch from 450 euros to 1,00 euros and not even in 303 british.

Easy enough... Yes, it would be easy to have a stoppage and not really check for a barrel obstruction I guess. Perform your I/A and carry on. Having used them my share for sure...and you could easily wind up with a squib and a rung bore.
