    Unertl scope block question.

On the M1941 receiver scope block were the screw holes drilled completely through the receiver or not. I was talking with a gentleman that said they were drilled through but it seems I read on the old forum that they were 1/8" deep. Thanks SteveL

I read that the 6x48 thead was only three or four threads deep so that they did not punch through.

If I am not mistaken, they were drilled with a "mill" bit (flat on bottom) and tapped with a bottoming tap 4-threads deep. Not sure where I read that, or if I dreamed it up. Take it for what it is worth.

Not as easy as it sounds anyway, as that is only 0.083" of an inch deep.
