    mp40 take down knob

have a friend trying to replace his cracked for-gripe on a mp40. does the roll pin on the take down knob only go in one direction, ive looked at mine and it looks like maybe one side of pin is mushroomed a little more than the other.

I think it's just a roll pin. I think if you remove it, you could replace it out of the roll pin kit and no one would know...it's just buggered...

No, its NOT a roll Pin. It is a SOLID pin with either end 'dished' out to retain.

A suitable punch & NOT a lot of force. WILL drift the pin out from either side!

remember to have the KNURLED knob supported on something softer. Like a section of Leather on top of a hard surface. So the knurling wont get damaged during your work.

Done a 'Modest' amount of these over the years!.......
