Remember guys shoot them first, then put one through the roof or into the floor when questioned by the authorities respond "Yes Sir, I warned them of my intent then gave them a warning shot to alert them they still advanced on me I feared for my life and safety so I defended myself and property." Leave it simple as that
Only thing about this is you cannot have any survivors to say he (they) did not give us a warning shot, I reckon anyone breaking into your house is not viable for the planets future, is an air thief, has given up all their human rites and needs to be dealt with with as much viciousness as can possibly be brought to bear as they are going to do it to you & your loved ones. We are having a torrid time here in one of our cities not 26 K's from where we live it is known as the Meth capitol of the whole of Australiaicon.
Hence home invasions and robberies as well as violence are spiking in that place as well as the outlying country towns sadly we are not allowed to have a 1911 45 ACP in our bed draws as our law is definitely on the side of the criminal with ~ they had a bad childhood, his father was a drunk & beat them, he was abandoned, he has a drug habit and so on all the while the victims suffer. I know what it feels like as we were broken into some years ago and they stole my firearms trashed the house it is not a nice feeling I can tell you.
It was only my wife who stopped me selling the house and moving every now and then I feel sick about it knowing some low life rifled through all our house trying to find the bolts (they did not) as in those days we did not have to have a gun safe we now have fort knox and it takes allot for my wife to get me out and about for anytime away from our place, I only hope the buggers ended up in jail or worse.

Don't know about Australiaicon, but warning shots are very illegal here.

Over here they come in gangs of four or more. People are often tortured before they are killed. No warning shots. Keep on shooting till they are out of the fight or running away.

Really? That’s not what the media tells us here. They often hold up Australianicon gun control as a shining example of how well confiscation works.

My experience of being woken up in the middle of the night convinced me a revolver is probably the best nightstand gun. It’s not easy to go from being fast asleep to shooting in 2 or 3 seconds. Your mind doesn’t have time to focus on fine details, like taking a safety off. The 1911 is a great pistol. I just prefer a S&W .357 mag revolver in this situation. It’s simple. You just pull the trigger. There’s no fumbling for a safety or dropping the mag by mistake. No tap and rack needed if you limpwrist it because you are not fully awake. And the old 357 mag is still an excellent one shot stopper.

Yep. The only situations where warnings shots might possibly be legal here are the same situations where the use of deadly force would be.

If they are in your home, it’s a no-brainer. You have the right to use deadly force to protect your castle.

It can get a bit sticky if they get out of your home and you shoot them while they are running away. I don’t know about Oklahoma, but it has been justified here in Texas.

"An Englishman's home is his castle"

EXCEPT when you have burglars break in, who are masked and armed and mean you lots of harm, and you put up no resistance.

In sentencing the Judge will tell you "In future, you MUST make them a cuppa of tea and make them feel welcome before they knock 10 bells of **** out of you.

All joking aside from what is reality...........whatever action you take to protect your property or family from attack, is to ONLY use REASONABLE FORCE!! now pick the bones out of that one, well thats in the UKicon anyway!!

I'm with Vincent. S&W 360 M&P with five Winchester 110 grain .357 Mag HP's. It has a tritium dot front sight and will place the shots a bit low with the lighter bullet but dead nuts on the money. If you miss, the muzzle blast will clear the room and blind everyone anyhow!

The .357 revolver is fine if you can hit first time and every time after that. Six shots and a slow reload turns into a big problem if you cannot. Especially when stressed.
I prefer a fairly modern high capacity 9mmP. Star 30M for me as a compromise as I am not into the modern plastic stuff.
Security in layers also helps. The idea is that you are awake before they are in your room next to your bed.
