Before & After
A while ago I procured some ordnence from a member downsizing among it was a 106mm HEAT RCL Prac round Fin stabilized.
I cleaned it up and etch primed it and satin black sprayed I left the fins as is besides they are a bit banged up but it sits nicely in one of my recoiless cases I have and looks a treat sandwiched between a complete 105mm Leopard HEAT prac round steel case and a 76mm round also from the same source (Just the projie I already had an empty case or 2)
Anyway it looks pretty neat the previous owner took the before shot whilst I made up my mind whether to purchase the gear.
Cheers.

Used to be scads of those around certain areas I used to frequent...mind you so were the Centurion tanks they shot them at...and Shermans... It's looking good now.

Back when the 106 was still in service, the fired steel cases used to show up as "scrap" from time to time.
One of the interesting uses I saw for them was, apart from as umbrella stands, as "heat-shields" around exhaust pipes on trawlers and things like large generators.
Just saw off the base and weld on a few appropriate tabs/brackets.....

Make a better heat shield than some of the chromed tin plate you see on semis now days, what a waste of a shell case then again they weren't collectible back then.

I remember using them as a screen on the end off the intake hose on large water pumps to keep the large bits of debris out of the pump.
