The markings on the stock forward of the brass marking disk are also Indian.
Yes I found out on gunboards that the LSA is actually ISA. Thank you. Seems though that it survives Indian Service mostly original and intact. Is that correct? Does anyone know how to read the stock disc? Is it English?

Yes...as near as I can tell, it says "PTE." with a series of letters that I can't make out, then a string of numbers. "Pte." is the standard contraction in the British and commonwealth forces for "Private". In this case, it's a bit of grafitti that I'll leave for others to speculate on.
To be clear...it's not an official marking of any kind.

Has SC ~ Short coned (just behind the rear sight) also disc looks like Pte. A. Attwood 1969 to me so the disc is irrelevant, the W & S are different fonts so I am thinking it has a worn cord (W) and the S is sold out of service as if you look at the muzzle pic (maybe the angle) the right side looks worn.
The S on the butt may mean small butt fitted I thought they were marked in a different spot.
Thats my take on it and if wrong stand to be corrected.
Any date stamps on the barrel re-inforce they may be under the bottom fore wood

About the 'S'... On the underside of the butt like that, it means the stock bolt has the split washer. A date stamp on the barrel, in this case, would be the installation date. It's an LSA barrel...they didn't date them.

Crown G.R. on Barrel with Flags. Then other side has the Proof Mark and serial. There looks to be another Crown mark with G.R. and another W S in different font. Here is a blown up pic.
Also there is a SC HV marking on the barrel if that means anything.

A bit more on the SC = Small cone of the cartridge chamber; diameter increased by .002- inch, for Mk VII ball. Factory rather than armourers mark, introduced List of Changes 21209.
