Yes, I've read it. Bruce and I differ on the use of the term "Modified" - all Remington M1903s were "modified", not just later ones. I have several Remington M1903s and in 2008, had a chance to open two crates of Remington rifles sent from the UKicon in the mid-1950s.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Just noticed you hail from Yelm, WA - I'm from Whidbey Island. You ever go to the Washington Arms Collector shows in Puyallup?

When I retied from the Navy, I retired to Oak Harbor. I have never been to Puyallup yet. After an absence from WA of 24 year years we just move here 2 years ago. I really want to go to one (or more) of the WAC shows.

One of my Shipmates from my final command in the Navy lives in Oak Harbor, has a 200 yard Range with full backstop on his Farm.

Wife and I found a little Bar/Café in Coopville we really like. Cant remember the name of it. it is filled with loads of Memorabilia and serves dynomite Fish and Chips.

Dang, my world just got a bit smaller. Next time we head to Whidbey Island I will have to bring my '03 and you can take a look at it.

I don't know how I missed it, I was just looking at my '03 as it was mounted on my Rifle Maintenance Bench. The Bolt is slightly swept back. Usually when the rifle is on the bench I have the bolt removed. It is indeed swept back about 5 degrees.

I think you're talking about Toby's in Coupeville. I have to confess I've never eaten there but it has a dynamite reputation.

Sure, PM me and we can meet. I belong to a nice rifle club just S. of Coupeville, too.

That's the place, I just told that to my wife, she said she knew that. I ask her why she has been asking the name of the place for the last 3 months.

I didn't know there was a club down there. Of course when I lived in Oak Harbor I did not own any guns except a Llama 45 Police. Do they have a 300 yard Range?

Nope, a 200-yard range is the max.
