I've been looking at the Hornady reloading kit, to get started. I have quite a bit of saved brass.

There are plenty of solutions. You could also start on the cheap side with a Lee Reloader, the little manual kit. Just don't save money on the scale. That is, in my humble opinion, the most important piece. I have been using the RCBS manual scale for over 20 years now, and can only suggest it.

I have an RCBS 515 scale and yes, well worth the money. I can't even find the model I have now. If you set up correctly, you won't have to replace anything later. Don't cheap it out.

You guys ever use a Belding and Mull powder measure? Out of business for quite a while but I've heard they are the best out there.

Funny we were discussing this. Just grabbed this stuff for $75 from my girlfriends father. Two Lee loaders from the 80s? Everything is unopened minus one part.

Looks like you have most of it except the scales. You can't use a powder measure without a scales anyway...you need to be able to set up and calibrate don't you? You'll want about three books minimum to check against each other. Is that one a Hornady? Anyway, it's a start. The scoops there are great for plinker loads once you have a chance to figure out how you want to do that. Lots to learn here on this one...you need someone that's loaded a couple hundred thousand rounds...correctly...to show you how to do all this.

Its a Hornady cartridge handbook 3rd edition. What scale do you suggest? I unfortunately do not know many people who reload.

Well, as I was talking about the RCBS scales, I have a 5-15 scale and I don't think you can get those. The 5-10 is available though... This will be like hair products, everyone will tell you a different one is best. I've only used mine since 1980, others have done it longer... Here's a link to look at. The electronic scales are great until the battery starts to go. I just don't bother with them. The mechanical ones are the standard... Lots to talk about here...

You are a wealth of knowledge, thank you. I will more than likely pickup a RCBS. I don't trust many electronic devices haha.
How large of an impact do types of primers have on your loads? Are any large rifle primers suitable for 7.7jap, 8x57JS, and .303 Brit, etc? This book does not have a mention of what primer was used on their load charts
