    Parker Hale has lost accuracy

    I have a PH .308 with a Mauser action,I think its a 1100 deluxe.
I used it the other day and the accuracy could have been a lot better.
On checking it out I found the screw in front of the magazine very loose.
Does anybody know how tight it should be as it pulls the barrel down?
    Thanks
    Tony

    Tony,
Do it up as you would any screw and then a final half turn to crank it in place. There are no meter measurements for that. Only you will know what the thread is like, just be careful of overtightening as you could crack the stock.

I've seen several of those shot loose. Once they do they'll beat themselves apart. Hopefully this is the issue with accuracy and not a worn bore?

It's hard to say exactly about that. I had a Savage 110 that looked good but when shooting it would heat up and climb up off the target after a few rounds... Anyway, like stated, tighten things to tight and try again.
    Regards, Jim
