If you've never carried if public before at first it will feel strange, it's all you'll think about. After a while when it sinks in that you're not doing anything illegal or wrong you won't even give it a second thought. It'll be like your wallet, You know where it is, you keep track of it at all times and you don't pull it out unless you need it.

I'm thankful I live in Pennsylvania, the last bastion of gun sanity in the Northeast. New York to the north, New Jersey to the east, Maryland to the south, getting hemmed in. I don't know for sure but I don't think Delaware, West Virginia and Ohio are too bad yet. Our biggest inconvenience is having to go through an FFL to transfer a handgun. Most everything else is good to go. Sales of long guns not regulated among residents, open carry OK, concealed carry OK for most of the state with Sheriffs almost instantaneous approval (except in Philly, don't live in Philly} Gun shows all over the place. State runs firing ranges (Game Commission) for those that can't afford a private membership. No firearms illegal other than those that are Federally regulated. A bit backwards in not allowing semi-autos for big game hunting. Almost had it this year but they backed off, limiting it to small game.

Yes, PA is the closest thing to gunny heaven in the northeast.

Delaware is close but you have to pass most transfers through a dealer and you cannot own most NFA items. but other than that it is pretty good.

Ohio and West Virginia are good too.

Part of the reasons is gun folks migrate here from NJ, PA and now Maryland. None of them want to have happen here what occurred in their home states. Laws have gotten better since 1987 when I moved here, in no small part to the fleeing refugees from the surrounding states. MA, NY, NJ, CT, Maryland and Delaware have all gotten worse.

Now that all my toys are in Nevada do I have to deregister them in California?

You could send them notification that you and your guns no longer reside in California. I don’t think there’s any requirement. You are not bound by their laws since you don’t live there.

All my weapons purchased as a FFL-03 are registered with the CA DOJ and of course the guns I purchased through a FFL-01 were run through the DROS system.

You've joined a growing list of our members who have also run for it. Popular destinations I've seen mostly include: Nevada, Oregon and Washington State.
Must feel like catching a long deep breath after being submerged.

Nevada, Though I've never been out there, I do have 2 nephews that love their FA's and just love it.

From when were were allowed semis here I had a 22Mag by Erma the M1 replica was walking up a run when not more than 20 meters away a fox came out of the brush it was quite funny like "Look who's here" his eyes went the size of a saucer by the time I had shouldered the rifle he had spun with the front half in the brush.
I fired one as he disappeared into the low brush then put the 2nd round @1 foot higher into the leaves along his line of departure, thought to myself ah well the critter got away so I wandered over for a gecko to my amazement the was brier fox dead as a stranded mullet, had it been a bolt gun then I am afraid he may have gotten away.
That's where a semi comes into its own a quick follow up shot unless your using a big double rifle your not going to get a second shot off that quick because you have to manipulate the bolt even with a straight pull your hand has to come away from the trigger a pump may be close but you will still have movement whilst you cycle the front hand guard.
So I am mystified as to the ruling of no large caliber semi's for big game hunting but they make the rules I suppose.

Congratulations. They wanted you to leave, too. When they are bleeding so much red, they will put on an exit tax like New Jersey has.

Fusillo said the tax is really just an estimated tax payment required at the time of a real estate closing to prevent non-residents from evading tax on the sale of second properties or investment homes.
