Here it is which I am led to believe is a Postwar Germanicon Fire service helmet but I stand to be corrected. Dimensionally it is about the same as the WW2 military service helmet but it does feel fractionally lighter and so perhaps is made from a thinner steel? The ventilation holes differ to the WW2 military version but are similar to the Luftschulz. The rim is about the same as the WW2 military version and it does not have the ribbed band. The Luftschulz helmet appears to have a wider rim.

Here in the US, they seem to fetch around $200 depending on condition. They do not bring nearly as much as a military helmet, especially if it is original and with decals. I came very close to purchasing one in similar condition as yours for $150 about two years ago but opted out due to it not being military. I would keep it due to the family connection and had I seen the same helmet today, I'd probably have purchased it. More disposable cash and it is WWII related for sure.
