Weez, yes, I saw that on the GIBrass site. Is there a comment or observation? They have been slowly running out for a while.

I think this is the new DoD Regulation on small arms brass being De-milled= destroyed before being released.

I've done business with Jeff for about 20 years now. Good solid guy, and a serious shooter. Always satisfied with his product.
It seems clear that this restriction on sale of brass applies to only EXPORTS to other countries.

No read again It says that if brass he buys at auction from the GOVT. is deemed un-restricted (meaning he takes delivery of it he will begin processing orders) In other words he is cut off for now. The warning about export has always been there.

i was looking at another reloading forum and it seems a new DoD regulation was passed in Febuary making fired brass .50 and smaller Restricted. I believe that means the wholesalers we usually deal may not be able to purchase it anymore.Or that it has to be destroyed into total scrap and cannot be sold whole. Better stock up.

...and it looks like you are correct, Curt. I can only hope that many of our fellow shooters have prepared for this situation. I wistfully remind myself of those days a few years ago, when demilled components were going for what now seems to be most reasonable prices.

A friend of mine told me on the phone tonight that a congressman got involved and it is getting fixed and should be buisness as usual soon but I don't know these things usually don't get "fixed".

I recall first hearing a few weeks ago they didn;t want to sell re-loadable .50 cal. brass or ANYTHING BIGGER.
Mistakenly change it to "SMALLER" in the language and there you go!

I'll bet it takes a while for everyone to see what was SUPPOSED to be passed and what really happened.
"Mistakes" like this are NOT accidental.

The fix is done. I don't lnow who is responsible, but my state congress critter got an ear full from me.
As of now, there was no brass demiled and all pervious buyers are again eligable.
If that was a trial baloon by the antis. It failed miserably.
