    I.D cardboard box

    Picked these up @6 years ago never paid much attention to the container as the rounds are what I wanted nothing special about them 48 rounds ~ MW (Welshpool) 1944 MkVII's in pretty nice condition.

    But the stamping under the box has me a bit baffled obviously not the container for the rounds but the markings are;

    No.1
    Mk.1
    V & S
    1942

    Any clues as to what the box may have held could it be a firing cap for larger ordnance appreciated as always your replies.

    The box has no wrapper on it sadly Mike only what I have pictured also the sides were fully taped so any markings there are not visible (all 4 corners were split).

    Do you know whats in there is it for 303 rounds! as thats what mine had in it so I am skeptical it is for them.
