    My favorite Garand

Thought I would post a photo of my favorite Garandicon. It was an easy choice as it is the only Garand that I own. 4.3 Mill SA Service Grade, Var that shoots very well. Puts the fired brass right where it is should to go. Have not had any problems with its functioning. Plainly put, it does what it is supposed to do and does it well. I am thankful for its selection by CMPicon.

John M., you are way behind the times. You need at least one Garandicon for each finger on one hand.

One day you may look up, they be all gone, you will slap yourself and say, "Wow! I couldda had more than one".

If I were 30 years younger I would agree with you. At this age, it is time to start thinking who gets what and when. More importantly should they get them in the first place. No sons to carry on the tradition. One step grandson, still figuring him out, but he is closer to being in favor. One daugher and two step daughters. Two grand daughter which are still in grade school. A step grand daughter with no interest in firearms. If I live long enough the grade schoolers still can come into my favor.

What firearms I do have will be a good foundation for them as collectors and shooters. A nice variety anyways. Managed to purchase what I wanted when I wanted it. Life is good in that respect. Kids and grand kids are healthy. What more can I ask for. I still have a wish list but it is getting shorter as time passes.

Brad, I thought you were a M1icon Carbine guy. You never said you also had a rack of Garands. Nice line up. I think you will need a thicker door to that room. By any chance is the the lower rack with the war babies above them? If you have any duplicates, I have room at my place and the door is thicker.

Nope, I've been a Garandaholic since...

...receiving my first one from the old DCM program shortly before CMPicon was born. The Carbines were a sideline. Had to have one of each SG the CMP offered just because... I'll get a picture of the Carbine clan and send it along to you soon.
By the way, my vault door weighs about 1100lbs. if I remember correctly. It has 12 one inch lugs securing it to the steel casing that is set in 6 inch steel reinforced concrete walls. Thanks for the offer, but they're secure here.
