    You did good

That type 2 barrel band is worth about $200 right there. People get on the excitement plan when seeing Winchester.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I see there is a Winchester with mixed parts on GunBroker right now with holes drilled in it for same scope mount same as mine.

Will be interesting to see how it sells. Don't know that I will ever sell this one but kind of interested to know what they are worth. Some day my wife or kids will have to figure out what to do with all the "stuff" I've amassed over the years so I like to keep a list with approximate value.

    What if.... ?

Haven't seen how much wood was cut away inside the stock for the scope mounts, but know Frank D @ the Stock Sick Bay could make it look right.....

And the more I look at the holes on the side of the receiver I can't help but think how much nicer it would look with those plugged. Plugged and touched up with some Brownells oxpho creme.

Rather small investment to make a already nice carbine look better.

    Just some thoughts.........

    Thanks Charlie,
I'll try to get some better pictures of the stock. The hols should be easy to plug but the wood working would have to be by someone with a lot more skill than me. How do I get in touch with
    Frank D ?

    Just like that JW...

I put that WRA on GB on my watch list.
I'll say over $825, that seller is about 1 hour SW of me.

    Cheers,

Here is a close up of the stock where it was cut out to clear the scope mount. Does anyone know of someone in the Phoenix area who would be qualified to repair this?
I am going to plug the holes in the receiver and get the stock repaired.

I had am uncle who did this sort of wood work many years ago but sadly, he is no longer with us. My wood working skills are best saved for rougher work.

Hi Jim_W, sorry I did not get back sooner. I had four Brown Belt's out in the woods today doing their "Challenge Day" before they qualify for their Black Belts. 10.5 mile hike and a lot of black and blue marks later and they earned their belts. You have found the right spot for carbine info. The members here are the best anywhere! I have done many stocks like yours. Both M2 cuts and scope mounts. I would be happy to give you a quote on yours. Send me a PM and we can go from there. If you search my user name here you can view some of my work. I can also put up some pics for you, just let me know.

    Best Regards.....Frank

Hi Frank , Sounds like you've had a busy day. I just sent a PM (if I did it right) and an e-mail. covering all bases. I think this carbine deserves some TLC.
