    Arisaka Type 99

Looking at a no series Nagoya.
    • No cleaning rod.
    • Receiver matches the bolt, the front barrel band does not appear to have any numbers (not sure if the is normal, thought they are supposed to be numbered).
    • Middle band does not have the mono-pod mount (so no mono-pod, I am assuming it is a replacement).
    • AA rear sights ("wings" present and working).
    • Mum is intact with no markings.
    • Safety has correct knurled pattern.
    • Reproduction dust cover.
    • Metal butt plate.
    • Stock is in good condition (no cracks, dings or gouges) as well as the metal (90% +). Not sure if the stock is original because I don't know if the proofs are correct for an early Nagoa (pictures included).
    • Bayo with straight gard included with frog

    Any feedback appreciated.

I know this post is a month old but here's what I can gather:
It's ok if the bayonet lug is unnumbered. Probably was lightly stamped and thus doesn't show up.
The front sling swivel definitely needs to be replaced with the correct one with a monopod provision which can set you back $20-$30 online.
The repro dust cover, missing cleaning rod, and monopod hurt it a bit and if you get it I would advise to just throw the repro cover out as it could harm the finish of the rifle.
It's great the it is mummed and matching however it is one of those that doesn't have the desirable oval rear sling swivel which isn't a big deal in itself but those tend to get more money.
On its own a no series Nagoya is very desirable as they don't show up everyday. However with the missing accessories and wrong front sling swivel the rifle by itself would be in my area about $350-$400. When it comes to the bayonet it matters if the frog is original or not. If so that can raise the value of the bayonet and the package as a whole. If the frog is real both pieces together in my area would sell quick between $450-$475. If the frog is a repro then the package would only be about $425-$450. Again that's in my area of the country and values change depending on where you are and availability to find other arisakas in your area. Good luck either way.
