    Completely refinished and unmaching US&S 1911A1 !

Who said that miracles do not happen?

    They do happen.

Not long ago I saw a completely refinished and unmatching (wrong trigger, wrong MSH, unmatching slide stop lever, unmatching slide) US&S 1911A1.
Well, against all odds it has been sold almost straight away for the equivalent amount of about 5,031.00 $

Really sometimes I don't know what to think, apart that there must be a lot of uneducated people around with plenty of money to squander.

I always tell my collector mates to put originality at the top of their priority list, originality isn't something that can be restored. I've never seen a 1911 I didn't like.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Perhaps it's the sum total of the parts, and someone that has more money than cares what to do with it? I've watched auctions that have gone out of hand with two stubborn old farmers both determined to own whatever misfit piece is at bid...and money was no issue.
    Regards, Jim

It was a direct sale at the gunshop.
