My LE No.4 MkIII* - Long Branch 1943

Here I am again with another one of my great passions.
I bought this through my local gun dealer because I really wanted a nice and perfect one.
He found me a nice piece, coming from the Italian Navy reserves (like my SMLE) and virtually unused.
The barrel has 6 grooves and is quite accurate.
The trigger is simply great. Not light, as should be in any military rifle, but without any roughness and with a very clear break.
The stock is L-size, so fairly comfortable compared to shorter ones (although I always use a little gel-filled extension)
A beautiful rifle.
It just doesn't give me the same emotions the SMELLY gives me, but it is slowly growing to me.
I'll keep working it over every now and then.

No.4 MkIII*? Misprint? Nice rifle, nice and clean.

Nice Long Branch. It's a No. 4 Mk1*. The No. 1's were nicknamed Smellys, from SMLE. The No 4's never were called that. Just so you know.
Beautiful rifle, I'd be proud to own that one.

Misprint, sh...t. I just can't find the way to correct a headline once written and posted...
BAR is right. I meant the SMELLY (No. 1 MkIII*).
I like the no.4 a lot, but the SMELLY just gives me some special emotions, like few other rifles.
My list goes from my Carcano 91 (Grandpa's prize rifle and completely personalised with his name on a silver plate and a dedication from the Ministry of War), then over to the SMLE and to my Oberndorf GEW.98 from 1918.
These give me the shivers, literally.
I also love all my Mausers and enjoy them a lot, but emotions are something else.

Ovidio when you look at your post after you've put it up & see an error down the bottom Rt of your post you will see edit post click that and you can correct the issue then click save changes all good.

Nice rifle the old girls just grow on you made when metal and wood were the go now look what we have plastic stocks and kevlar wrapped barrels there was an old saying once and it goes like this;
In days of old we had men of steel and buildings of wood,
Today we have men of wood and buildings of steel.

If you need to correct the stu**ed up header you put in when you get to the edit page look bottom Rt again and you will see "Go Advanced" click that and you can then fix your header plus anything in your blurb then afterwards click Save Changes all done.

If you need to fix a picture then when your in edit mode scroll down the page till you see in very small print "Manage attachments" you can then add or delete pics.
There you have it bloke.

This was the info I was missing, thanks a lot.
I'm mostly traveling, so I snag some time on my cellphone to write my stuff and very often I make mistakes due to the small keyboard or distractions or even the autocorrect function. Knowing how to make 'em good again will be most helpful!!!
