    Winchester small rifle primers problems

I switched over from Win brass to R-P brass for my 223 service rifle loads. by the secound or third firings I still had a few primers fall out on ejection. Not nearly as many as with the Win. brass.
I found some old Winchesters primers I had (back when they were silver) and they had a much tighter fit.The primers with the loose fit were a very fresh batch July 2008 the carton says. Anyone else have this problem?

I use Win SR primers in IMI, LC and other brass with no difficulty.

    Curt:

I start my Lake City brass off with a steady diet of new (brass) WSR primers. After they have been loaded quite a few times, and the primers are seating in the pockets a little too easily for my liking, I switch over to CCI SR, and the primers tighten back up. This is because the CCI primer is just a little bit larger in diameter, and fit snugly in the (slightly) enlarged pocket. Using CCI after Winchester has (most likely) doubled my case life over using the new WSR exclusively.

My cases are lightly loaded, with a minimum shoulder bump, and I'm getting ready to junk the current lot with 15 loads on the cases.

Well, maybe just ONE more time.........

    Hey, it works for me......
