Odd 1896 BSA LE Long Lee Rear Sight

Is anyone familiar with this particular rear sight that is on a 1896 LE BSA magazine loaded Lee Enfield. I can't find anything that matches this particular sight. The gun came from Canadaicon with Canadian Regimental markings so maybe it is something Canada specific??? Any help would be appreciated.

    Best regards,
    Eric

The "slider" is an add on and not factory.
They were used for target shooting.
I have two or three different types and I'm going to assume your rifle is in .303

This is a "Reardon Adjustable Sight Bar" fitted to a service sight leaf for target shooting. Cost Cdn $2.00 c1905.
One of many target sights for the Long Lee by Sutherland, Martin, Parker, BSA, Tippin, Westley Richards etc.

Thanks for the info on the slider being a Reardon target sight. Now I had to decide if I want to find an original sight to bring the rifle back to 100% military configuration of just leave the Reardon sight on. Any thoughts???

Could have been used by a militia regt rifle team since it is on a service rifle. The sight cap was removed when this type of attachment was used.

Missing part is locking knob w/ 4-48 left hand thread. That is why virtually ever one i've see is missing.
natural tightening (RH) spins the knob out of the sight. Must be a few buried at ranges throughout Canadaicon.
