Yep, Texas use to be part of Mexico as every schoolboy knows.

Did you need the "Blue Button" to discover that it is now part of the U.S.iconA., muffet?

One would hope that the construction workers who build 'The Wall" along the southern border of the U.S. have access to The Milserps Forum and use the "Blue Button" to check whether Texas is currently part of the U.S.A. or Mexico. Otherwise the residents of Texas may find themselves inadvertently annexed to another country.

The Vickers made 1907 is one of the rarest and expect to pay at least £150 + in the UKicon, so a dealers price I would say is around £200 +........Mole is another rare one to look for, the more run of the mill ones are (not in any order) Chapmen, Wilkinson, Enfield and Sanderson can still be found in excellent condition.
I bought a Sanderson many years ago which had the best blade I've ever seen, looked like it had come straight out the factory the grips and the scabbard let it down but with a new set of grips and better scabbard its an excellent example.

Its a catch 22 at times with bayonets with scabbards, everything outside the scabbard can look excellent but the blade is poor, or everything outside the scabbard is poor but the blade has been preserved with grease etc and is excellent.

The 1907 bayonet prices do seem to be going up in price, I've noticed recently, in the U.K. and the spare scabbards are getting less plentiful.

The 1907 seems to go up and down, the 1888 and 1903 have been a steady climber over the years. My collection has dwindled over the last year to pay for the L42 fund.

    SANDERSON '07

The one I am chasing at the moment is the Sanderson/Neubold they made the '07 together but the bayonets were only stamped Sanderson. (My initial spelling of the name was correct it was later changed to Newbould)
So what I gleaned from Skennertons book is they produced 1,600,000 '07 bayonets as Sanderson Bros & Newbould total wartime output and had produced by April 1st 1917 52,726 '07's then when they moved to Sheffield they produced a further 1,547,274 units therefore I am deducing pre-1917 Sanderson would be the one for me to buy but this is only my theory.

As for the others up until the end of hostilities production figures from Skennertons book I have indicate that 3 candidates are on the low side Vickers producing only 10,000 units due to how late they started producing them and their subsequent failure, R Mole & Sons 60,000 units and from what I am reading Remington Arms at 100,000 units

I have 2 x 1916 bayonets in my small collection J A C (James Arthur Chapman) and a Chapman of which the book indicates that total wartime production of 300,000 units also on the low side with only 116,025 units being produced post 1st April 1917 the pre 1917 figures placed at 183,975.
Ian does not mention when the change from JAC to just Chapman occurred.

Would the other side be marked with the bend test, "X" and inspection marks in the normal way?
