Another year passed since Midway & D-day

Today, 6 June 2017, makes 73 years since Operation Overlord (D-day).

Sunday, 4 June 2017, makes 75 years since the Battle of Midway, the day when the Kaga & Soryu were sunk. Also when the Hornet's Torpedo 8 Squadron were all KIA, except one man.

Monday, 5 June 2017, makes 75 years since Midway when the Hiryu & Akagi were sunk.

Tomorrow, 7 June, 2017 makes 75 years since Midway when the USS Yorktown & Hammann were sunk.

It can't be said enough: Freedom is not free & never forget those who purchased that freedom.

Absolutely right, we recently had a general election here in the UKicon, every time someone tells me the can't be bothered to vote ... "Whats the point syndrome" IT makes my bloody boil, I have to count to 10 and walk away!

The problem here is most of the youngsters are so far removed from the great sacrifices of their grandparents (make that great grandparents) and education is so very woolly and liberal, it generally swerves the wars...
