Added another 1903 to my stable

I picked this up last year with an extra 03A3 barrel and a fake 16" bayonet. I paid $750 OTD.

Thats better must be using a magic camera, nice looking rig are you going to get a real bayonet for the rifle seems an injustice to have a faker stuck on the end are the M-17's (if thats what they take) expensive.

I have several real deal bayonets. I've an uncut 16" PAL for this one. I'd have to look it up again but I believe this one was made in 1942? Barrel is a replacement 4 groove High Standard, everything else is Remington.

The 03A3 barrel is a new R.A. replacement dated 11-43. I was offered $150 for it but I have a couple 03A3's and will hang onto it.

Oops, 1941 per a look up.

Nope - you were right the first time ...1942, about April or May.

Back when the DCM was advertising 03A3 two groove barrels for $0.99 each, I ordered six. When the order was delivered, three of them were four groove. I still have one, but I traded the other two away, for 760 round cans of LC 62 NM ammo. One can for each barrel. I still have one 03A3 barrel in the wrap Remington two grove barrel along with one four groove 03 barrel. Some times yu get lucky.

Yes, I have shot it and it shoots very well.

I got my nose in the trough on the CMPicon's Garand barrel sale and bought five of those which I still have. Probably more likely to shoot out an M1icon than an 03 or 03A3 I'd think.

Thanks, Rick! I'm in Colorado now but still have a house up in Kent.

There are a couple of date of manufacture tables that list ALL Remington M1903s as "1941". Looks like you happened upon one of them.
