    sey 30 round mag Real/Fake

How do you know? It is well worn. The finish is just about gone. I know the SEY split back, from what I have read is one that was copied/faked. So how do I find out. I paid $20 for it. I got a bunch of ammo from the guy so he dropped the price from $27.00. He did not know if it was fake or real. Not his selling for someone else.

Thanks for looking any info. No big deal if it is fake. i am not a collector. Just like the history and shooting the carbine.

Thanks for the reply. I am happy it is real. Now the mind wonders where it has been in history. Sitting on a shelf, Training, battle the possibilities are unlimited. Taking it out this week to see how the mag works.

Looks like a real one to me. There are a couple of details that I won't discuss on an open forum that indicate that it is real. I just sold an original SEY hardback that had those same details. And they aren't faking the hardbacks yet.
When they tell you to behave, they always forget to specify whether to behave well or badly!

That's a real one. I believe it was made by Seymour Products Company, Seymour, CT. They also made Thompson magazines during WWII.
