Non-refurbished 1944 Winchester M1 carbine - value in US query

I have no idea what I am looking at (if it were Britishicon or Finnishicon firearms, then I'd stand slightly more chance). There is a 1944 Winchester M1icon carbine I am looking at. There is no import mark. someone at another well-respected forum said that the carbine had not been refurbished. All parts are original Winchester marked parts. Still has the push button safety and the Type 2 front band without the bayonet lug. There is no import mark. There are some small dents on the wood, but nothing major. Any idea on a reasonable current value in the US?

Could you get a few pictures of both sides and the top of the front sight and the barrel band?
Could you measure from the muzzle to see how far the W proof and Intertwined PW in the oval circle stamps are in inches?
Picture looking in toward the rear chamber and feed ramp?
Pull the front retaining pin off and slide the trigger housing off. Then we can see where the hammer is striking the the top of the housing.
We'll see the hammer and possibly the sear marking too..... without you having to take the trigger housing apart.

Does look like the hammer pin is in from right to left, when it should be left to right, but no biggy. So far so good.
    Buttplate picture also.

Here are some recent completed auctions on Gun Broker you can sift through to find a similar one to compare to:

Ok, will ask for the information/photos. The gunbroker prices are all over the place, anywhere up to $3500, which does seem excessive. Any idea on a rather more narrow, sensible ballpark value?

Anything on the auction sites are about 50% over what they should be. So I would guess about $1500 to $2000 is what it would be valued at. And for some reason the later the carbine the harder it seems to be able to sell.

That correlates what I have been told at another respected forum. Nice to have confirmation.

    Spinecracker,
I thought you had the carbine in hand. Sorry..........
At the very least ask for pictures of the frt sight and barrel band as described above,
Look for the weld spots on the band.
Winnchesters have the weld spots exactly like the picture here (borrowed from fellow member Dave HH)... Only WRA has this weld spot location. Up in the corners, above the screw.
If the sight and band are correct, I'd go $1200 to $1500 max.

    HTH,

More photos and answers from the current owner:

The measurement in inches from the muzzle to the W proof and the Intertwined PW in the oval circle stamps - 4 inches to the "W" and 6 3/4 inches to the "PW"

    Barrel replaced - No

Hammer is marked "IN". Owner says this a possible field replacement or cross manufacturer supplied part which was not uncommon.

    Hope this helps.Attachment 85185Attachment 85186Attachment 85187Attachment 85188Attachment 85189Attachment 85190Attachment 85191Attachment 85192Attachment 85193Attachment 85194Attachment 85195Attachment 85196

Replaced hammer, not WRA, not lateral support.
    Replaced Non WRA frt sight
    Barrel band, Not WRA.
Barrel stampings in correct placement per vintage.
