    Off Topic Chicago Police Scanner

I came across this web scanner site tonight. I clicked on the 'Most Popular' wondering if I'd hear 'Shots Fired'. Less than 30 seconds of listening.... Sure enough call in from a out of breathe Policeman on foot in pursuit of a male jumping fences trying to get away. As I type Police are still looking. Now just heard report of someone (citizen) down in a street.
Lot of action on a pre holiday Friday night.

Here if your interested: Chicago Police

Car stolen at gun point, along with more shots fired from a different area. Now a Over dose.
    Busy !
    God Be With These Police,

Just as bad here in West Au

My nephew before he became a Federal Police Agent was on the beat with a female partner when they pulled a car over for a minor infringement, at the license check he sorta got a twitchy nose so asked the driver to wait whilst he checked the details sure enough on the computer there was a bench warrant for the driver. Coming back to the car he informed the driver to get out of the car at which point the chap fired up the car instinctively and probably wrongly my nephew reached in to try and get the keys and found himself being dragged along side the car as the driver wound the window up on his arm.
Falling free he hit the deck the car went down the street a bit then came back at my nephew to run over him as he was still on the ground my nephew who by then had ligament damage to his Rt arm screamed at the female officer to draw her weapon and fire at the driver as he is trying to run him over, she did nothing but froze like a deer in the headlights never even un-holstered her weapon.

The car ran over his Rt arm & collar bone doing a bit of damage at 3am in the morning my sister had the Commissioner of police Carl Callahan on her door step saying her son had been run down and was in hospital.
After he got out and the investigation was complete my nephew asked never to be sent out with that female officer again in fact he stated never send me out with a female officer again which they didn't.
Its not a reflection of the females in our force just what one did on that night.

My nephew is now a Federal Police Detective....................

Two prime examples of why it is not the guns fault.
Ex 1 strict gun control US style = bad guys with guns any way.
Ex 2 strict gun control AU style = bad guys don't need a gun to be bad guys.

I heard many 'Shots Fired' calls last night the the CPD followed up on to find it was indeed fireworks.
Would make good cover, having someone out the door burning off fireworks as the bad guy inside shoots his victim (s).
Gangs, Dope, Robbery and just plain Payback...... Very dangerous.
Small children being shot in their own homes.

Over 100 Hit By Gun Fire In Chicago

    Chicago,
Over the 4th of July weekend 101 hit by gun fire. Youngest victim 13 oldest 60.
Tuesday afternoon 41 people were shot in just 12 hours.
    14 were Fatal.
This doesn't calculate in the hundreds of shots fired that hit no one.

The rate of violence (in Chicago) relative to the size of the population is, however, lower than other US cities such as St Louis or Baltimore.

    Charlie-Painter777

P.S. 14% fatality rate. Imagine if they held their gun upright
