    Steve,

Rifle number 359 was shipped to Cumberland Police on the 8th July 1974. Where it is now or who owns it I have no idea.

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    512 and 547

    Hi Simon

I have a transit case for an Enforcer marked 512. Its wooden with a foam interior cut to an Enforcer shape. It did have another number 547 which has been over painted.
Can you tell me which police force they were issued to?
    Thank you.

    Has FlightRN been in touch?

    Cheers,

    Simon.

    L39a1

    Simon

I have just acquired L39 A1 UE70 A624, can you tell me any more?

It has a 7.62 mag, a No.4-type butt, with the foresight elements container. Bolt head is a '2'.

The previous owner had heard that some L39s, and possibly this one, were converted to taking a 7.62 mag for later police use. Is there any evidence out there regarding this?

It has been proofed to 4680 Bar, in addition to its original 19T proof.

    Regards
    Ian
    (LERA #023 btw)

    Steve,

The records are barely legible for A626 but the best I can make it out is 18th December 1970, out to Donnington.

    Hi Simon,
I have Enfield Enforcer s/n 490 with a scope marked to 464, the rifle apparently came straight from the Durham police force into private ownership when they were sold off, it still has its original barrel, next Sunday i will be taking it to a 600yrd shoot, after that i will be only shooting cast heads through it to preserve the barrel,
    cheers,
    Colin

    Colin,

Rifle 490 did indeed go to Durham Police on the 3rd Jan 1975. Durham purchased a total of 19 rifles in all. Rifle 464 was also one of the Durham rifles.

    Hi:

Do you have any information L42A1 serial no. AU1680? This is a D71 production rifle with matching base, telescopic sight (serial no. 25836), scope can and transit case. I have owned the rifle for about 10 years. Any information would be appreciated.

    Regards,

    Tom Jackson
