Probably wishful thinking - but worth a try.

Stephen, all credit to you in attempting to find out more but I suspect that wishful thinking is the best you can hope for.
The chance of records remaining are slim - the police force in Glasgow has undergone a number of iterations since they were supplied with that Enforcer in 1975. Assuming it was destined for the City of Glasgow Police, they were amalgamated into Strathclyde Police that same year and more recently all of the regional police forces in Scotland were merged in 2013 into the single force that is now known as Police Scotland. An act viewed by many (me included) as a predictable retrograde step, but when are the decisions of our elected representatives ever based on good old common sense!

Oh well, I will keep my fingers crossed anyway.
My enquiry was placed on the Glasgow Police website "contact us" form, so I should at least get an answer of some type.

Over here, our W.A. Police generally get back within a fortnite or so, whenever I sling a curly question at our Firearms licensing fellas.
I expect Scottish Police would be about the same with a request like this [they couldn't be much slower at responding than our police.....]

Would anyone be able to tell me how long the L42A1 fore stock is? Someone that owns one.

Hi rbiron. I don't have a forend handy at the minute, but it is simply the standard No4 forend with a few mods, the one of which that is relevant here being the fact that it is cut short - if you have a standard No4 forend you can work it out as the cut is 1/2" in front of the barrel band recess (front edge of recess). Hope this helps.
