    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.  Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle.     Rifle 16583 was part of batch number 58 consisting of 4 weapons and has a recorded completion date of 16th Jan 1973. Out to stores at Donnington.

    I've got a 30L0027 in the records. Part of batch number 49 consisting of 39 Weapons and a completion date of 19th Jan 1972, sent to store at Donnington.

    The transit box is owned by a member here complete with the printed data label to 50L0027.

    It sold today for $6,750.00 plus 17.5 percent consignment fee. I gave it my best shot. Would have been nice to have consecutive sniper rifles.
    Ah, in another 20 years, if I live so long!
