    Pops Collection cont...

You have been most helpful and I now feel much better informed. One or two of you have said that they would be happy to highlight anything they feel is unusual... I have a few group photos with my numbering on the bayonets. At the start I tried to get them in date order I will try to upload them now. Any help you can give especial with the unusual is very appreciated. I have 35,57,58,59 65-72 as unidentified.
    many thanks

49-52 spike's can get good money the very early crucifoms are sought after some makers of the latter types fetch reasonable monies average here in Au for the commons $20-$50, 53 Owen bayonet again depending on what Mark reflects the price but here in Au $350-400, 55 $120 Au, all the others I will leave to the real experts.
But value is a funny thing dependent on Rarity of the bayonet, condition and just how much the buyer is willing to fork out.
Me I would keep it as there is years of collecting there and some pretty rare types but guess if the desire to own it is not there then its better to move it to a home where it will be appreciated parting it out will take time, harder to sell as a full collection as it becomes a niche market i.e those that can afford it, auctioning it may or may not be a course. I am sure others here will assist you with it.

67 is a Malayan Kris. We had this as a sign on some of our trucks based in Central Malaya. 57, 58 and 59 is/are a bog standard No7 bayonet unless a clearer photo shows them with a smaller ringed crosspiece

    Brian, A very nice collection,

    #38 is a rare 3 rivet 1888 very good £350 plus

#41 and #42 are Hook quillion 1907's that are Around £500 + if very good to excellent and regiment marked then I'd say £750 plus

#43 and #44 Check the makers names, I'm guessing one is Vickers and Mole ? they are the least uk made,( Ive a Vickers for sale £170 and a Mole £130). if its Colt then you can name the price..........

#46 #47 # 48 Are either P14 or P17 bayonets, these have climbed in price over the years but normally around £80 plus, if one of these is a Vickers made, again you can name the price.....

    #53 #57 #58 #59 are around £150 each

#56 is a trials bayonet for the SLR L1A1, have seen them from £150 -£250 to eye watering

#49 #50 #51 #52 #63 are spike bayonets the rare on to look for in the pile is the cruciform one mentioned by Cinders (looking down from the point it will look like a cross) another rare one is a Singer made IIRC prices very low from £10 up The Singer a lot more and a Cruciform probably £200 plus.

Numbers 1-25 I'm not rally up them, but looking I would say they are all collector grade ,

#26 I would say around £160 as with #27 #28 without scabbards quite less but all depends on the Model

#32 and #33 with scabbards around £450 -£500 but without around £250 there is a big difference on these without scabbards, I'm just going by what I've seen in the past, Ive one For £200 but had no takers. (the sawback on most of these is as sharp as the day it was made.

#62 as in the other thread £1000-£1500

Hope this helps, again check the makers I mention above , a colt 1907 or a Vickers 1913 would certainly bring a lot of interest, in fact they all would and a pleasure to look at, as I've never seen such a collection span form Brown bess to SLR. I can only guess Pops had an eye for a Bargain. Make a not of the prices I quote for reference for the auction House, as its going to a None Military one some of the values could be way out.

Any other info or advise don't hesitate to contact, as I said, I'm coming back through the Midlands tomorrow around 1300 if you want an opinion happy to help.

    Hope this helps,

I have seen one or two cruciform No4 bayos in the £150 region for average condition in the last few months or so. One in mint condition may get a little more.

#56 may be a X2E1 Trials bayonet, but it has the wrong scabbard. Its been paired up with No. 5 Scabbard

Have a look on No. 41 or 42 (hooked quillon), if one of them is marked with RFI - I found such ab bayonet in a brass mountes scabbard and they are extremly rare.

Also have a look on the blades of 69 and 70, if one of them has no false edge - if so it is extremly rare.
