    I put them in a bucket with rubber bands holding them vertical and filled up the bucket to just below the handles. The handles did not soak. Manually removed rust from the exposed metal. There is some under the wood but I'm not going to take them apart to get it out. I may spray some PB blaster in there or I'll just oil them good.

    I coated with heavy BLOicon but didn't work it in. BLOicon is a good rust preventative, it's just a messy one. But inside a handle, who cares.
