    Gewehr 1888 commission rifle

Local shop has one for $375. Appears to have at some point been in Turkishicon hands. Stock is in decent shape. Outer Barrell shell is a few dents but nothing big. Didn't get to look down Barrell at bore. Just wondering if that's a decent price. I know pictures would help. But I had left phone in car and he was closing soon.

$375 is pretty high for a Turkishicon 88. It's been a while since I've seen one for sale but I'm thinking it should be between $200-$250. If it were NOT Turkish and strictly Germanicon, $300-$350.

Being Turk marked it will be a Gew-88/05 . 99% + of 05's in this country are Turkishicon . The price would be set by many factors . Is it a rare year ? Does it has a Germanicon Z barrel ? Does it have a complete Turk rebuild or is it Original German with a Turk stamp ? Does it have a new condition Czechicon made .323 barrel ? That would be a big plus for a shooter . Now days common Turk Mausers are bringing 250 + . Any German Gew-88 that is a WWI bring back and has not been to another country is rare and worth much more than 300 . The problem is most people do not know the correct models or what is really rare . There are some that are so rare I know of only 5 or less that are known . There are many that are less than 1 to 3 % of what is out there : Gew-88S , Z barrels , 1898 , 1899 made rifles .
