03A4 Serial Number is it an actual?

Glad to been the group!! I have the chance to purchase an Remington 03A4 SN 49929xx.
In the Remington Society PDF the number appears to fall in to the "third block" of A4's produced. However, on another SN listing it doesn't show at all. Is it possible that this might be a fake. Has A "C" stock, blue scope mount, appears tp be a weaver scope. Any help appreciated. I am new to the 03's.

The 4.99 million Remingtons are 03-A4 rifles. There are other characteristics that differentiate between 03-A3 and 03-A4 rifles that good close up pictures could help determine authenticity.

If the markings on the receiver are offset to allow the mounting of the scope base without covering any of the markings, it is a real M1903A4 (the receiver anyway). Mine has a higher number than yours and dates to March 1944. My barrel is dated 12-43. Mine came with a full pistol grip stock with another rifles serial number penciled in the barrel channel. I have mounted a Remington marked semi-pistol grip (scant) stock which has been modified for the bolt handle. Only the early M1903A4s came with "C" stocks made by Springfield Armory. Replacement stocks were both semi and full pistol grip.

The Remington Society Serial number list is the most accurate when it comes to M1903A4's you can relay on it.

Your photo posting has a problem. When you want to post photos, click on the "insert image" icon in the first line (looks like a tiny painting of a tree). Delete the characters in the box created, & C&P the Direct Address from Photobucket.

That is, if PB still works for you. They have new rules; you can't post pics to forums (called "third party posting") unless you sign up for the $400/year membership.
