    green bren mags

scored some bren mags today and some of them are painted green with BLR in yellow. any ideas on why they were painted and what the lettering signifies?
the other mags were normal finish with R/P in white. any ideas on what the R/P stands for?
    thanks

A special green paint was a standard authorised method of rustproofing during the way. BLR is as LE says it is. They are probably early Mk1 magazines by the look of them that have to be repaired/modified at a Field workshop, hence beyond LOCAL repair at the unit. Rawalpindi Police........ just a wild guess as that and Rajastan are the only two places in India that I can think of that start with an 'R'

All the green mags are ED MkIII and the other mags are a mix of ED MkII, ED MkII* and ED MkIII with the exception of 1 mag that has a whole bunch of markings.
