    Another Winchester part question

Looking at type 3 winchester hammers. Marking W and WS are winchester? What is WA? Seen one on eBay. Said it was winchester but no info on WA marking.

    Thanks again

I've been told Wault Manufacturing. I don't know how much faith to put in that. All I could ever find out about Walt was they make socks today?

The WA hammers are wartime replacements from Walt Manufacturing as mentioned. I've seen them misrepresented on eBay as Winchester also, along with many other parts related to WRA or not.

Thanks for the clarification. Not a Winchester, but likely a good hammer being a war-era contractor.

    Chopper,
This for your WRA 5,7 ?
    I looked at mine (thinking I had a 5,7) but it's a 5,811,000
Anyway I have a SW Type III straight hammer. W on left, S on right
But I'm sure a W TIII would be ok for you.
Just make sure it's the correct size/style W marking.
Look in your Riesch book and compare the picture of a W-White hammer to a W-WRA hammer.

    Good luck
    Charlie-Painter777
