    Bipod options on 1200tx

    Hello All,

First I wanted to thank everyone for the replies within my "scope" thread. I have finally got the rifle set up and was able to get it scoped in this past weekend.

Sub 1 inch groups @100yrds using 168gr ELD was pretty standard. I have some 168gr MKs on order, will be interesting if I can get then even tighter. Its only a 3 shot group but thats all the 06 ammo I had left after sighting it in. Was really starting to get a feel for it, but thats the way it goes. Ill have some 10 shot 200yrd groups soon.

    Anyways...

I was looking for some additional advice on a bipod solution using the front handstop rail. It appears a PH handstop and PH bipod will not be very easy to find and likely expensive even if I can find one. Therefore I am looking for other options to use the rail perhaps with a swivel stud and a standard swivel stud bipod? Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

    Cheers

    Salty

Sorry I don't recall their name

Which scope rail did you end up with?

Ended up with a Farrel pic rail. Have to say it turned out pretty good, for me anyways.

So I have a stupid question about the forend rail. Mine looks like this...
Parker Hale M82 1200TX C3A1 Sniper target rail | eBay

But the handstops with the spigot look like they fit into more this style of rail.
    Sarco PH handstop and rail

Ebay has something that looks like an original PH here.
Parker Hale Style Rifle Bipod Quick Detach W/ Hand Stop Spigot

I am missing the swivel screw in the rail. I could get just get a swivel mounted bipod, if I can figure out what size swivel screw I need. But just looking for options at this point from others who have already found a good solution.

The handstops you are looking at appear to be for an anchutz type rail.

Maybe, I am not sure. Does this PH handstop fit the 1200tx rail? To me it doesnt look like it would but maybe I am just looking at it wrong.

Both I believe are the same thing.

Now I purchased the one from Airsplat, and can say the spigot does thread into my target rail (the one you have in your link to ebay). The only thing is you might have to shorten the threads a little.

Yes the PH one does fit the rail. I've got the same on my M82. You may have to omit/unscrew the small steel plate on the top (in pic) in order to get enough thread length to screw into the threaded holes in the rail - I did on mine. Works great plus you get a usable sling swivel on the other side of the handstop if you need one.

So got the bipod today. Ended up ordering one from CCDN. The bipod is pretty beefy, solid steel. But its very obviously of lower quality knock off compared to an original. The handstop however is pretty nice. I will be purchasing an original if ever the opportunity arises. Looks like some importers are in the works...so maybe, someday...

Also, if you ever are looking for a cheek rest, check out bradley. Have to say it is very functional and the quality is outstanding. Bradley adjustable tactical cheek rest m1a cheek rest
A bit pricey but they are worth it in my opinion.

So there we have it. Next we will see what kind of groups I am capable of. Cheers and thanks to all those who helped answer all my stupid questions.
