    Peruvian short rifle

    Hello to all,

Could the stock for the Peruvianicon 1935 short rifle be from a different Mauser style?
What would be a suggested replacement?

    Thanks

    Hi Gil.

Is your rifle in 7.65 or 30-06? and does your rifle have the Peruvianicon crest on the action?
As you will know, the Czechoslovak-made Vz.32 rifle which was made solely for Peru was based on the 35 model. Is yours the (FN-made Model 1935 carbine) with an 18 inch which was made for the mounted Brigade and Policia, presumably it is if you say it is short?.
That would then help to answer your question with a substitute stock.

    Gil,
Is it the "short" 18" barrel version?

Gil, it looks to be a longer barrel ( the 23") .
I don't have it hand and am estimating it from an ad.
I am looking for a rebuilder

I think you may have the F.N Mauser Modelo 1935 with an 18" barrel with the reversed wing safety.
When you engage the safety catch you rotate it to your left, the exact opposite of all other Mauser rifles. They did it, for the "marksman" in both the Army and the Police at thew time, so they could move their cheekbone further forward.................not sure whether that helped mounted troops or not as they took a shot, bouncing around on a horse!!! FN vertially disowned the production, but it was a hell of a rifle, and admired by many Firearms manufacturers in Birmingham UKicon including Parker Hale.
I'll rack my brains here and say probably the only people your side of the pond who could fulfil your wishes are Numrich Gun Parts, I remember he had a great interest in the short 35's at one time.

Drop them an email: Gun Parts & Firearm Accessories | Numrich Gun Parts
and let us know how you got on.

    Thanks again,

    Gil,
No worries it will be exactly 23 1/4” in that case which will still produce 1 MOA on the range.
They are a very underestimated rifle and becoming fairly rare too.
Anyway, see how you get on with Numrich for the time being, to make sure they can assist in the first place if you haven't bought it yet.

I restored a sporterized m1935 last year with a Numrich stock, front sight guard, and lower band. It was decent.
